Tim Score, Chair Chair at British Land and Deputy Chair at Pearson, Tim Score is Chair of Trustees at Chance to Shine. Expand Tim Score became Chair of Chance to Shine’s Board of Trustees in September 2023 and brings a wealth of experience to the charity. Tim is Chair at British Land and Deputy Chair at Pearson. He is a non-executive director at Bridgepoint and at The Football Association and sits on the board of trustees of the Royal National Theatre. Tim was formerly a non-executive director of HM Treasury and Chief Financial Officer of ARM Holdings.
Dana Abdulkarim Dana Abdulkarim is Associate Assistant Principal at Dinnington High School in Yorkshire and a former England rounders player. Expand Dana sits on the Audit and Risk Committee and is the Welfare and Safety Lead for the Board. Dana Abdulkarim is Associate Assistant Principal at Dinnington High School in Yorkshire, where she has played a key role in developing the PE and PSHE curriculum. In 2000 Dana became the first Muslim and Arab woman to compete for England internationally, subsequently gaining 67 England caps in rounders. She also gained experience as an international rounders coach for the U13-19 age groups and supported the development of the UKCC Level 1 & 2 coaching materials. In 2008, she became the first Hijabi Muslim woman to qualify to teach PE in England, and became a trustee at the Muslim Women’s Sport Foundation in 2017, where she supported inclusion opportunities for the foundation.
Sir Danny Alexander Former Liberal Democrat MP, Sir Danny Alexander is currently the Vice President of AIIB based in Beijing. Expand Danny joined the Liberal Democrats' shadow Work and Pensions team in 2005 and in July 2007 he was appointed Shadow Secretary of State for Work and Pensions. He gave this up in 2008 to concentrate on a new role as Chief of Staff to Lib Dem leader Nick Clegg and to co-ordinate the preparation of the Liberal Democrat election manifesto for 2010. Danny was re-elected in the 2010 General Election. In the days after the result Danny led the Liberal Democrat team in negotiations which resulted in the formation of a Coalition Government. He played a key role in drawing up the detailed programme for government and was appointed Chief Secretary to the Treasury. Danny was the Member of Parliament for the Inverness, Nairn, Badenoch & Strathspey constituency from 2005 until the general election in May 2015. Danny read Philosophy, Politics and Economics at Oxford University. After this, Danny worked as a press officer for the Scottish Liberal Democrats before spending four years at the European Movement and then four years as Director of Communications for the Britain in Europe campaign. In 2003 he was appointed the Head of Communications for the newly formed Cairngorms National Park Authority before being elected as MP for Inverness, Nairn, and Badenoch & Strathspey in 2005. Danny is married with two daughters. His hobbies include hill-walking, fishing, cricket, travel and sports of all kinds.
Will Lawes Will Lawes is the Managing Director at investment banking firm Lazard. Expand Will sits on the Governance and Remuneration Committee and is the Senior Independent Director for the Board. Will Lawes joined Lazard, the global financial advisory and asset management firm, in January 2017 as Managing Director, Financial Advisory. He was previously a senior partner at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer since 2001. Prior to that he was co-head of the firm’s worldwide financial institutions group for six years. Will specialises in corporate governance, public bids, mergers and demergers, private acquisitions and disposals, joint ventures, restructurings and equity issues of all types, both in the UK and across borders. He advises a range of corporate, investment bank and financial institutions clients. Will was educated at Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand and Gonville & Caius College, Cambridge. He joined the firm in 1986 and has been a partner since 1994. He is a visiting fellow at the Centre for Corporate Reputation, University of Oxford.
Doug McAllister Doug McAllister is a Senior Client Partner at Korn Ferry. Expand Doug sits on the Audit and Risk and Governance and Remuneration Committees. He is a Senior Client Partner in Korn Ferry’s London office and a member of the Firm’s Board and CEO Practice and the Global Digital Practice. He identifies chairman and non-executive board directors for clients in both the UK and overseas. Doug has also worked in the not-for-profit space for a range of domestic and international organisations with a focus on education and health. Doug studied politics at the University of Durham and has a master of business administration from The Business School, Imperial College, London.

Sophie O'Connor spent 15 years at Bank of America Merrill Lynch after qualifying as an accountant with Ernst and Young. Alison Oliver Ali Oliver is the Chief Executive at the Youth Sport Trust. Expand Ali is the EDI Champion for the Board and also the Chair of Chance to Shine Enterprises. She is the Chief Executive at the Youth Sport Trust, an independent charity devoted to changing young people’s lives through sport. Ali joined the Youth Sport Trust in 2004 and has fulfilled the roles of Implementation Director, Sport Director and Managing Director before becoming the CEO in July 2015. Prior to this Ali was the Deputy Director of Sport at the University of Bath having initially been the course leader for the initial teacher training programme for Physical Education. While at the University Ali worked on the English Institute of Sport Project and was the founder of the TEAMBath netball Franchise. Before this Ali was Head of PE at Millfield School, having started her career as teacher in Essex. During her career Ali has worked with and on behalf of a range of other organizations. She supported the British Olympic Foundation’s education programme back in 2004 and delivered the Paralympic Inspiration Programme on behalf of the British Paralympic Association in London 2012. Ali led LOCOG’s Youth Panel, and is a member of the selection panel for the Young Sports Personality of the Year. She is currently a Board member of the PiXL Edge and an advisor to Sheffield Hallam University on their Sport strategy having previously sat on both the England Netball and Sport England Regional Boards. Ali has also worked on a number of international assignments including a project with Sport & Recreation South Africa which was part of the International Inspiration Programme.
Kriti Sharma Kriti Sharma is an Artificial Intelligence technologist and a leading global voice on AI ethics. Expand Kriti Sharma is an Artificial Intelligence technologist and a leading global voice on AI ethics and its impact on society. In addition to advising global businesses on AI, she focuses on AI for Social Good. She built her first robot at the age of 15 in India and has been building AI technologies to solve global issues ever since, from productivity to education to domestic violence. Kriti was recently named in the Forbes 30 Under 30 list for advancements in AI and was included in the Recode 100 list of key influencers in technology in 2017. She was invited as a Civic Leader by the Obama Foundation Summit for her work in ethical technology. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, Google Grace Hopper Scholar and recently gave expert testimony on AI Policy to the UK Parliament in the House of Lords. Earlier this year, Kriti spearheaded the launch of the Sage Future Makers Lab, a forum that will equip young people around the world with hands-on learning for entering a career in Artificial Intelligence. Kriti was appointed a United Nations Young Leader at the General Assembly in 2018.

Sir Mark Harford Mark’s career was in business and finance, predominantly in private equity. One of five Founding Partners of Vitruvian Partners, he retired in 2019. Expand Mark’s career was in business and finance, predominantly in private equity. He was a Partner at Bridgepoint Capital from 2001 to 2005 and was then one of five Founding Partners of Vitruvian Partners in 2006, from which he retired in 2019. He holds a BA from Durham University (1986) and an MBA from INSEAD (1991). From eight years old to his mid-40’s he played cricket for his school, university and several amateur clubs until injury eventually got the better of him. But he remains devoted to the game. Alongside Chance to Shine, he has a number of other director/trustee roles, including Chair of Governors at Cheam School in Berkshire.
David Walker As Chief Operating Officer of British Land, David is responsible for implementing the company's strategy and further improving the effectiveness of Real Estate operations. Expand He is a member of ExCo and IC and leads British Land’s Property Management team, heads up our Marketing and Corporate Communications functions, and oversees the company’s Sustainability and Smart Building programmes. David joined British Land in 2017 and prior to becoming COO acted as Interim Chief Financial Officer. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant with PwC, before spending over seven years at Deutsche Bank. Since then, he worked for over 10 years in Investor Relations, Finance and Corporate Development roles within UK listed businesses. For 4 years to 2023, David was Chair of the UK Investor Relations Society, having served on the Board since 2012 and was a Board Director of Glebe Housing Association until 2022. David is currently a Non Executive Director at Equiem, a property technology business and a member of The Business Council at the National Literacy Trust.
Steve Davies Steve was a Senior UK Fund Manager at Jupiter Asset Management for 15 years, having previously worked in other City roles at PwC and Numis Securities. He also invests in and advises a number of wellbeing start-ups. Steve has been a supporter of Chance to Shine for over a decade and is also a patron of Team GB.
Bilal Raja Bilal Raja is an experienced professional with a background in audit and advisory. Expand His dedication to grassroots cricket has led to significant contributions within his local community, with a track record of adding value within a wide range of financial service audits and advisory projects. He is currently a Senior Internal Audit Manager and Likewize.Bilal brings invaluable expertise and leadership to our board, as well as a thorough knowledge of Chance to Shine's programmes - having been a participant in both his school and local Street club. Committed to furthering the charity's mission and cause, Bilal is now striving to inspire the next generation.
Amit Aggarwal Amit Aggarwal is a charity fundraising specialist and Vice-Chair of the Costa Coffee Foundation. Expand Amit is an Associate Partner at More Partnership, one of Europe’s leading consulting firms for the not-for-profit sector. He is an experienced charity NED, having previously served on the Boards of No Smoking Day and the Abraham Initiatives UK, and now serving as Vice-Chair of the Costa Coffee Foundation which builds schools in coffee-growing communities around the world. Amit qualified as a chartered accountant with PwC, and was formerly Director of Corporate Partnerships for Great Ormond Street Hospital children’s charity.
Emma Bernstein Emma is a Strategic Lead in Sport England and has held several different roles in the organisation since 2006. Expand Emma has led on the delivery of several large funding programmes including investment into the London 2012 Olympic venues and more recently HM Treasury’s Covid-19 recovery and energy support funds for public sector leisure. Her interest in data and impact analysis drove the development of Sport England’s Moving Communities service. She works closely with the Department of Culture, Media and Sport, National Governing Bodies of Sport, Local Authorities and leisure operators. Emma studied Management Science and Spanish at the University of Southampton and recently graduated from the Women’s Sport Leadership Academy. She is married with two daughters. Her hobbies include cricket, football, cycling and travel. She volunteers as a Committee member at a womens’ cricket club and has played for Middlesex and the MCC.
