We are deeply saddened to hear of the death of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II on 8 September 2022.

For more than 70 years, the Queen has provided leadership, guidance and inspiration to people in the UK, the Commonwealth and worldwide. Through great periods of change and upheaval, she has provided a steadying hand and her legacy is one of dignity, integrity and unswerving commitment to public service.

We offer our sincerest condolences to the Royal Family, and to everyone for whom this news will cause immense sadness.

Chance to Shine Chairman Sir Donald Brydon said:

"For many of us Queen Elizabeth II has been the personification of many of the values that lie at the heart of our country.  She represented commitment, service and the exercise of duty like no one else.

I had the honour of meeting her several times. I will remember the twinkle in her eyes, the interest she took in all that she encountered and her simplicity in communicating on even the most complex subjects.

As we go about our daily business, we will be sharing in the national grief and thinking of the Royal Family in its moment of personal loss. We wish that Her Majesty may rest peacefully and offer support to King Charles to continue to lead us whilst echoing the values his mother upheld so selflessly."
