Statement on Chance to Shine Programmes As a direct result of last night’s government announcement, we can confirm that all in person Chance to Shine delivery will cease from today (Tuesday 5 January) until further notice. We are deeply saddened by this as we had seen such a positive start to the year, however due to the spread of the new variant of COVID-19, we fully understand the decision. We of course want to return to delivering in-person to schools and communities when the time is right, but in the meantime will work alongside our network to ensure that all children continue to have the opportunities to play, learn and develop through cricket. Our Chance to Shine Virtual Programme will do just that and can be accessed via the Play tab of the Schools’ Portal. The programme is set out to support coaches in using a virtual scenario to directly deliver to a school, in this instance those open to vulnerable children and those of key workers, as well as providing teachers or indeed parents with content to conduct sessions themselves. In addition, we have made available a full playlist of our Chance to Shine street cricket workout sessions via YouTube – a great way to stay active during lockdown! We would like to thank our key funding partners: ECB, Sport England and NatWest as well as our incredible donors, trusts, foundations and corporate partners for their support in this difficult time.
