Beth Kirkland, from Dringhouses School, York, was the latest in an increasing number of lucky children chosen to be an England mascot at one of the international matches this summer.

Beth was given this opportunity of a lifetime at the second Investec Test against New Zealand at Headlingley. She is the first of many children who will get the opportunity this summer, with an exciting cricket schedule ahead.

There will a different child for each match and the lucky youngsters get the chance to get up and personal with the England team, meet the two captains, and help with the coin toss.

As part of the ongoing partnership with Brit, Chance to Shine provide mascots for all England's home international matches. Boys and girls aged between eight and twelve from across the country have, and will continue to enjoy a fantastic day out with their heroes.

Talking about the day Beth said, "I was so excited when I heard that I was going to be the mascot for the England team at Headingly! The whole day was great. I got to meet all of the players. I will remember this day for the rest of my life."
