Bananaman, two Batman's, a Bat Girl, a Robin, A Kick-Ass and a Hit Girl. These were just some of the super-heroes who took on the Heroes Run London last weekend (1 April) to raise money for 'Chance to Shine supported by Brit Insurance'.

Despite the warm conditions all eight runners completed the 10Km course around Clapham Common in one piece and in good time.

So far the runners have raised over £1,700 for Chance to Shine and the money continues to come in. The heroes included cricket fans and members of staff from the Marriot Maida Vale.

Speaking after the event, Jo Mackie, Sales Manager at the Marriot Maida Vale, said: "Myself, Daniella, Stef and Kiana had an amazing time on Sunday and are very proud that we managed to complete the 10K Heroes Run. It is a fantastic personal achievement for all of us, and also we are proud to support Chance to Shine, whose inspiring efforts make such a tremendous difference to young people."

Claire Hall, Partnerships Development Manager at the Cricket Foundation said: "We are delighted with efforts of all of our runners. They have done incredibly well in not only getting round but also in raising so much money for Chance to Shine. They truly are heroes!"
