Chance to Shine teams up with FabLittleBag Chance to Shine is delighted to be teaming up with FabLittleBag, helping to support the charity’s aim of making cricket an inclusive sport. As part of a pilot programme, FabLittleBag will be supplying 32 coach bags, which include organic pads, tampons and fab period disposable bags, for all Chance to Shine Girls Street projects. Coaches involved in the pilot will carry their FabLittleBag to every session, ensuring participants are aware that the packs are available if required. Research shows that 70% of girls avoid being active on their period* and the pilot aims to address a key barrier for many girls playing sport. Chance to Shine Inclusive Programmes Manager, Rohan Randhawa said, “Our new partnership with FabLittleBag is an important step in our commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion. It is vital that we create environments where everyone can thrive, feel comfortable and of course have fun. We’re really grateful to FabLittleBag for their support.” Founder of Fab Little Bag, Martha Silcott said “Hats off to Chance to Shine for embracing positive change around the typically taboo subject of periods in their Street Cricket sessions for girls. “FabLittleBag is delighted to be working with them to help normalise menstruation and break down taboos that may lead to girls missing out the sessions when on their period or being caught in awkward situations. Our Coaches Bags filled with organic tampons and pads from top period provider Freda and FabLittleBags for confident disposal, help not only provide a practical solution to managing periods, but by their sheer existence, make it easier for coaches and girls to be more open about this topic. Only through talking and education will we be able move the dial to make periods a normal discussion point and with that more comfortable for all concerned.” *Reframing Sport for Teenage Girls: Tackling teenage disengagement, Sport England (2022) Manage Cookie Preferences
