Richard Darwin is an Operations manager at Chance to Shine. In this role, Richard is responsible for our Schools programme and supporting five county cricket boards in the East Midlands region.

Richard joined the charity in November 2008 as Regional Officer for London & East and was promoted to Regional Manager in July 2009. He moved from the England and Wales Cricket Board where he had held the post of Cricket Development Manager for Hertfordshire since November 2006.

A life-long cricket fan having been raised in a cricket-mad village in the North-East of England, from an early age Richard could be found with a cricket bat or ball in his hands. It is this early involvement and his passion for the education of young people that drives him in his work at Chance to Shine.

Following the completion of his ECB Level I award to help support a new junior section at his club Richard went on to work in a number of community coaching roles with the Durham Cricket Board including many hours of schools coaching and local development work.

Richard left the North-East to join Cricket Scotland as a Cricket Development Officer having completed his HND in Sport and Exercise (Coaching Science) at University.
