Lucy Horitz

Lucy HoritzLucy joined the Cricket Foundation as Corporate Fundraising Manager in May 2011, having previously worked with the team raising money for StreetChance as part of the Lord Mayor's Appeal 2010.

Lucy's role at the Appeal included corporate and individual fundraising as well as event management, delivering a variety of events throughout the year. The highlight was a celebrity cricket match held at Windsor Castle, featuring Ricky Ponting, Andrew Strauss, Michael Vaughan and other cricketing greats.

After graduating in Politics and Philosophy at University of York, Lucy spent a month in India  visiting grassroots community development projects. Following that experience, she decided her skills would be best employed by raising funds in the UK - and hence she embarked on a career in fundraising. Since then Lucy has worked at a variety of charities in fundraising and project management.

Lucy is a keen cricketer, opening the batting for the women's team at Hampstead Cricket Club. Having attended a state school with no provision for girls' cricket, Lucy is particularly motivated to help provide cricketing opportunities for girls from a young age. In early 2010 she became a Level 1 coach and has since started coaching beginners' cricket.

Her other interests include running, skiing and travelling.

Sue Moxon

Sue MoxonSue joined the Cricket Foundation in 2008 and became Operations Co-ordinator in 2009. Prior to joining the charity, Sue worked in the education sector as an IT trainer for ten years and her IT background helps ensure the Cricket Foundation’s Chance to Shine operations run smoothly.

From a cricketing family – Sue’s husband and her son both played from a young age. Sue has seen first-hand the benefits of playing in a cricket team: how it can increase confidence and help children to learn to respect rules and other people.

Sue’s first and only foray into the playing world was in a mums team, the result of which, she says, is best forgotten, and since then Sue’s contributions have been in cakes and scoring; two things she is much more comfortable with

In her spare time, Sue runs a successful retail business selling environmentally friendly fairly traded gifts.

Prior to this, Richard spent 18 months with the Prince of Wales International Business Leaders Forum. He worked at the Council for the Advancement of Arts, Recreation and Education, campaigning for a more prominent role for sport in public policy to help alleviate poor health and social problems. Richard has also volunteered in a more hands on role, managing a Newham based team involved in Street League, a London based charity using football to fight social exclusion in the capital. In this role, Richard developed a great appreciation of how the scheme had transformed the lives of many youngsters, something he hopes to help the Cricket Foundation achieve through StreetChance.

Tim Mathias

TimTim Mathias is StreetChance Operations Officer for London. He was previously the Volunteer Coordinator for StreetChance. Having spent two and a half years with the Hampshire Constabulary and a summer with the England and Wales Cricket Board, Tim appreciates the impact volunteering can make, both towards the project and personal development.

A lifelong cricket fan, Tim is a keen student of the political economy of the game, particularly on the subcontinent. With an emphasis on Indian consumerism, Tim continues to work towards his dream of publishing his research on the exciting developments in the area as ‘cricketing Swadeshi’.

Part of the generation that has had the pleasure of cricket beamed to the television and computer screen, Tim believes strongly that watching cricket comes second only to having the opportunity to playing the game itself.
