Earliest cricketing memory

Skipping lessons to play cricket when I was 11 - I was sure I was going to open the batting for the West Indies! In 1952 I played in a school match celebrating the coronation of Elizabeth II and in 1954, the year I came to England, I saw George Headley play in a charity game.

Cricketing highlights / lowlights

Highlights: My membership of the ECB board has taken me from spectator to administrator..

Lowlights:
Approaching my 64th birthday, I was dropped from the annual match between the General Council of TUC and an Industrial Correspondents XI to make way for a younger man.

The three Ws - Weekes, Worrell and Walcott.
