Brit Insurance Annual Achievement Awards 2011

The Brit Insurance Achievement Awards recognise the tremendous success of the Chance to Shine programme. We acknowledge and appreciate that this has been achieved through the skill, passion and enthusiasm of many people involved through schools, clubs, County Boards and local businesses up and down the country.

Nominations for all eight award categories have now closed. The Brit Insurance Achievement Awards dinner were held in the Long Room at Lord’s on Thursday 3rd November 2011. Click here to see who the winners were.

Chance to Shine Project of the Year


Recognising the outstanding achievements made to increase coaching and competitive opportunities through Chance to Shine.

Chance to Shine Coach of the Year


Recognising coaches that act as role models, inspire children to develop a love of the game and engage with teachers to bring cricket into everyday school life.

Chance to Shine School of the Year


Recognising schools that embrace the Chance to Shine philosophy in working towards both sustainability and competition.

Chance to Shine Young Leader of the Year


Recognising a young person (aged 14 – 18 years) who has demonstrated leadership skills through their involvement with umpiring, officiating and managing youth cricket at their local club.

MCC Spirit of Cricket Award


This award recognises an individual who has delivered a successful MCC Spirit of Cricket programme resulting in an improved awareness, respect and behaviour amongst the recipients.

Cricketing Ambassador of the Year


This award recognises the outstanding contribution of a cricketer (current or former) to Chance to Shine over the last year.

Chance to Shine Volunteer of the Year


This award recognises the outstanding contribution of individuals who have given their personal time on a regular basis to assist schools and clubs within the Chance to Shine programme. 

Brit Insurance Special Recognition Award


This award recognises the immense contribution made by an individual or individuals to the Chance to Shine programme, contributing to the success of the scheme.
